I was born in Kingston, Jamaica, spent some of my early years living in Toronto, Canada, and grew up in the UK, where my family is from. I think my tropical birth meant I didn’t enjoy cold, so I sought warmer-climes as soon as I reached an age when I could travel

My first solo trip at the age of 18 was to Malawi. I volunteered as a teacher at a secondary school for a term, followed by back-packing around southern Africa. This experience changed the course of my life, providing me with a passion and drive for exploring the world, and a desire to better understand the geographical disparity in social and economic opportunities that exists.

I step into this world everyday with optimism and happiness. We all have a choice how we want to show up in this world. I choose to be a positive influence for myself and others. If you asked me this question a year ago I’d talk to you about my physical being and the roles I have as a mother,

wife, sister, friend etc. However I see myself differently today.

I am (apparently) a spiritual being, this is a concept that I am learning to understand. I live my life through a

physical body, so that you can see me. My spiritual being gives me infinite potential to achieve anything I want,

my abilities are endless, again I am learning this about myself, and adapting and every day. Intellectually I am a

When I reflect on who I am in the world, I immediately think of- I am a woman, a daughter, a sister, a wife, a friend. I am an alchemist, a creator of systems, deeply curious, and I am love. 

I’ve been very attached to labels in my life - whether it's been engineer, optimist, American, mentor, investor, sister and so on. Whatever it is, it has been to justify to myself that I was on a path and could be understood. Not for me, but for society. I know they’re not but I often find paths as far too predictable, plotted, and somewhat boring.
