This is who I am in the world….
To me, my inside thoughts of myself, I’ve always been altruistic. A bleeding heart liberal who has felt
and carried the pain of others because of my sensitive and empathetic heart. I am a mother, healer, a
lover, a creator of sanctuary and safe places for others to be themselves, unjudged, and cared for. To
others I think I present a combination of witchy voodoo yogi healer and pro-woman business executive
that pushes the narrative around performance and competence and promotes women and girls as vital
contributors to the economy, to workforce, and how a feminine approach to leading is preferred over
stereotypical masculine archetypes. I am a passionate believer in equal rights, social justice,
environmental preservation and in pushing that narrative publicly and privately, it is who I am.
This is the story that I want rewritten for women…..
Utter and complete confidence from the youngest ages for our girls. Michael Singer’s book the
Untethered Soul gave me the answers I needed to get over my depilating insecurity and lack of
confidence. I was a chronic pleaser, a co-dependent partner, and someone who needed to feel needed to
feel loved.
This undoubtedly put me in positions that were not safe, were not soulful, and were not
leading me to be the best version of myself. In my early 40s I was so unhappy and unsettled and found a
path of enlightenment through my yoga practice. That journey of self-reflection, inward reckoning,
loving supportive women and referrals to beautiful teachings let me to the Untethered Soul. The moment
I recognized that the internal voice, that narrative of constant ridicule and dislike of my behaviors was my
subconscious mind that I had full control of, my life completely shifted. I became the writer of my own
story. This is the gift I wish to give to other women. That you are completely capable of doing, being,
accomplishing anything you desire. You are uniquely equipped with all the tools to make you amazing!
This is the story that I next want to write for myself….
Time is precious. When you know better, you do better. So I want to continue to do better. In the last 5
years I have become a yoga teacher, moved internationally (3 rd time in 6 years), went from being a stay at
home full time mother to owning my own business, and then being recruited to run a $43M company as
the chief revenue officer in an environmental sustainability company. I want to continue to lead as a
woman.
To show other women you can be soft and feminine and spiritual and sensual and sexual and
still be a BOSS. I show up every day with my altruism, my passion for the environment, my passion for
elevating woman and their capabilities and I’m proud of myself. I strive to do better and be better every
single day. To be present and mindful to my children and family, to be conscientious about my health
and wellbeing. To be truly grateful for the lessons I’ve learned from other women, my mother, my
sisters, my mentors and my yoginis. These strong women have helped shape my mission of fully loving
and embracing who I am, in every stage of life. And to continue to bloom where I’m planted.
