Where you live: Geelong, Australia

This is who I am in the world….

I’m determined, a listener, a person who’s willing to give things a go and constantly learning & improving. I believe that being continually evolving and learning is something I learnt from my mum.

I’ve travelled to +23 countries and have lived in 5 different countries. Experiencing different ways of living have shaped how I view life and interact with others and have contributed to my feeling of not belonging.

My work experience has been in the Human Resources industry for over 15 years, working in the corporate world and now with the small business community. I wrote a book for leaders and managers on having a more engaged team and increasing business results.

My family is my priority; I have two young daughters and a wonderful husband with who I shared the journey of parenting and life.

Being a mum has been one of the biggest lessons of unconditional love, patience, harmony, self-trust and being open when I mess up.

 2.      This is the story that I want rewritten for women…..

The more women speak up about their work and impact they are making, the more we give permission to others to flourish and the quicker we are changing old paradigms or narratives.

I want for women to have self-trust. The world is noisy, so the more we cultivate the relationship with ourselves, the easier it’s to follow our inner voice regardless of what others say.

Recognize that we all are different and have different strengths. It’s obvious in our minds, but we keep comparing with others and trying to fit in and I believe it will make difference if we provided opportunities to kids to cultivate their unique strengths from a young age.

Financial independence, in Mexico we have a saying: “El que paga manda” which can be translated to the person that has money is the one that has the last word, and I’ve seen this is true in many cases. It’s important to educate girls from a young age about money and investing without compromising our integrity or the environment.

 3.      This is the story that I next want to write for myself….

This year I decided to focus more on myself and started dancing hip-hop, colouring and went back to my public speaking group.

I feel like I’m rediscovering the world and myself in new ways.

I’m breaking old beliefs on how I view myself as a leader, a creative person and will continue to do that as I evolve.

I’ve been great at doing things behind the scenes, and I’m stepping more into the spotlight, which is out of my comfort zone. My future has more speaking opportunities, and I’ll continue to contribute to shaping the workplace. It means helping leaders navigate conflict at work, lead using their strengths, and redefine the work environment they want to create.
